Mr. Marcadis was born in Tampa, Florida and is a third generation resident of Tampa, Florida. He had an early desire to work in the law firm as both his Grandfather and Father where Florida Bail Bondsman. He is a debt collection lawyer, and his practice focuses on debt collection, debt recovery and insurance subrogation.
Mr. Marcadis received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) in Accounting from the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. In 1981 Mr. Marcadis received his Juris Doctor (JD) from the University of Florida Law School, also in Gainesville, Florida. In 1982 Mr. Marcadis received his Mater of Laws in Taxation from The George Washington School of Law in Washington D.C.
After law school, Mr. Marcadis worked for an international accounting firm in the Tax department. After working with the accounting firm, Mr. Marcadis decided to practice law and in 1984, after a few years practicing law, he started concentrating in the area of collection law, both commercial and consumer/retail collections and insurance subrogation law. He practiced under the name Marcadis & Associates PA until 2011 at which time Gil Singer join the firm under the new name Marcadis Singer PA. Since the beginning the firm has concentrated in the area of commercial and consumer debt collection.
Mr. Marcadis is a member of The Florida Bar. He is also a member of the National Association of Retail Collection Attorneys (NARCA) an association comprised of attorneys who concentrate their practice in the area of consumer and retail collection law.
Mr. Marcadis was asked in 2011 to speak before the Florida County Court Judge’s Conference in Palm Beach Florida on the issues surrounding collection attorneys, debt buyers and the court system. Mr. Marcadis is also a speaker on Florida Debt Collections and Garnishment Law.
Ralph Marcadis has been married for over 30 years and has three grown children. One of his now adult children (Stuart Marcadis) has joined the practice following the family tradition.
