Some of us are relatively new to the Bay, some of us are deep multi-generational Tampanians, but we all love this vibrant community that we call home.
The Greater Tampa Bay Region is comprised of 8 counties.
Starting in the far north of the Region is Citrus County, followed by Hernando then Pasco and Pinellas (home to St. Petersburg and Clearwater). Heading further south of the inlet there is Manatee County and Finally Sarasota. Traveling east, is Hillsborough County, home of the actual city of Tampa, and further west Polk County.
In this one region, we have 4 seaports moving 43 Million Tons of of cargo a year. There are 3 international aiprorts serving nearly 20 million passengers. Tampa is the 8th fastest growing economy nationwide, with a working population of nearly 2 million people. Six Fortune 1000 Companies call Tampa Home, and nearly every Fortune 100 company has some presence in the region. There are 20 colleges and universities, and growing, including 3 USF campuses, and the stat’s newest university, Florida Polytechnic.
This region is home to amazing nature and wildlife, world class fishing, and an economy that is growing by leaps and bounds, an educated population, some of the country’s finest beaches… and a vibrant culture. It is also our home base.
