Up in the Fourth Circuit Court (Jacksonville FL area for those that aren’t familiar) Chief Judge Donald Moran has been residing since 1993 and announced his retirement planned for January 2015.
The new Chief Judge will Circuit Court Judge Mark Mahon. Congratulations Mr. Mahon.
A Chief Judge is elected by secret ballot by the the circuits 54 judges. A Chief Judge looks over budgets, judicial assignments, and the administration of courthouse rules.
We understand from those that know him that Judge Moran has a wicked sense of humor, we hope so, he will need it.
Judge Mahon was an appointee of Gv. Crist, and he has served on the state legislature for 7 years.
Once again, Judge Mahon, congratulations and we wish you the best of luck.
