  • Use offensive, threatening, and abusive language.
  • Repeatedly call consumers as a way to harass them.
  • Call before 8 am or after 9 pm.
  • Intentionally provide the debtor with inaccurate debt amounts.
  • Contacting a debtor at their office or at their place of employment even when they’ve been asked not to call.
  • Sharing consumer debt information to third parties.
  • Falsely impersonating or claiming to be a law enforcement official or credit bureau representative.
  • Threatening to sue a consumer and/or seize property with no actual intent to do so.
