Due to their job creation, small businesses have constantly been a major contributor to economic growth, even more important than big businesses. As per the SBA, in the 3 first fiscal quarters of 2014, 1.4 million new small business jobs were added to the economy and 39% were very small businesses (under 50 employees). Small businesses played a pivotal role in the country’s recession recovery. From mid-2009 to mid-2013, small businesses accounted for 60% of new jobs created.
