It is surprising that so many Floridians don’t know that the world famous Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey circus was born in Sarasota Florida.
What surprised us, was to see that Mr. John Ringling, the consummate circus barker, was a director in his hometown bank, The Bank of Sarasota.
It is always fun to look at newspapers from the 1920’s and 1930’s and see where things that appear to have “always been” originated.
