According to a law resource website, nolo.com, a judgment lien is :

“…a type of nonconsensual lien (a lien that attaches to your property without your agreement). It is created when someone wins a lawsuit against you and then records the judgment against your property.”

Obtaining a judgment lien must be done by filling out a judgment lien certificate with the Department of State after the final judgment occurs. After receiving a judgment lien, If amendments to the lien are needed to be made, you may do so by filing a correction statement also with the Department of State.
There are two ways you can use a judgment lien- to obtain real property or to obtain personal property. Real property is property that is fixed, such as land or buildings whereas personal property is property that is moveable such as belongings.
