We enjoy the Daily Business Review‘s occasional articles on Florida Judges. A recent article featured Miami-Dade County Court Judge Caryn Canner Schwartz. Judge Schwartz’s husband was a Miami-Dade Circuit Judge, Judge Lawrence Schwartz, now retired for 3 years.
Judge Schwartz originally had aspirations of following her family path, and pursuing her career in being a hotelier. In fact the court she provides over is only a few blocks from her late Father’s hotel. Along the path were also thoughts of being a doctor, and began college with Medical School in mind.
At the time, her husband to be was a teacher, Caryn graduated with a degree in Psychology. Ultimately she became a teacher like her husband. When her husband career changed into law, so did future Judge Schwartz.
Its been a twisting path, and we have totally enjoyed reading how this remarkable Judge found her way from hotels to medicine to law.
