Default Judgments Pt. 2
The plaintiff has to request an inquest from the court to get a default judgment. The inquest is a hearing where the sum of money to be paid on the claim is decided. Check out Inquests. The default judgment can be vacated by the defendant if the court agrees that they had a good reason for not appearing in court or responding to the judgment and if there is a good reason the plaintiff shouldn’t be granted the judgment.
