What can a judgment do?

A judgment could order the case to be dismissed, to pay money, or order something to be done. Disbursements and awards of costs might also be included in a judgment. Costs are the sum of money that the statute determines the winner must be paid by the loser. Disbursements such as filing fees are out of pocket expenses. A judgment is valid for 20 years, however, if a judgment against land by the plaintiff is only valid for 10 years, but the plaintiff has the option to renew it for an additional 10 years.
